In 2025, Wellpoint Care Network kicked off a 175th Anniversary Celebration, recognizing nearly two centuries of service and impact across Milwaukee and the surrounding areas. Through the decades, Wellpoint Care has changed names, expanded services and adapted to meet the most pressing needs of the time. But one thing has remained constant: a steadfast commitment to helping children and families heal, flourish, and thrive.
Our 300+ employees are the heart of Wellpoint Care Network and make our lifeโchanging services possible. We are deeply committed to their well-being and experience at work, fostering a supportive environment shaped by flexible work options, strong leadership, and meaningful investments in professional development and traumaโinformed care.
Across the agency, staff speak with pride about our positive impact in the community, the strength of our team culture, and their deep connection to Our Mission as they partner with individuals and families on their journey toward stability and empowerment.
As we continue the transformation of our 18-acre campus on Milwaukeeโs northwest side, we are working to advance our vision of becoming a Community Hub that fosters connection, healing, and wellness.

By Reggie Newson, President and CEO
As Wellpoint Care Network continues to celebrate 175 years of service, I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead this organization โ and for the people who bring our mission to life every day. Our greatest strength is not our history, but the associates, clinicians, case managers, and community partners who carry that legacy forward with professionalism, compassion, and dedication to children and families facing complex challenges.
No single organization can address these needs alone. So over the past year, we’ve strengthened our partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, government leaders, and philanthropic partners. These collaborations help us expand services, advance our community hub model, and ensure families receive coordinated, compassionate care.

Iโm proud of the progress weโve made, and even more excited about what lies ahead. Supporting the well-being of children and families is one of the most important investments we can make in the future of our community.
That work is made possible by strong leadership and the stewardship of our Board of Directors. This year, we extend special thanks to Jackie Herd-Barber, John Teevan, and Mary McCormick (above), who are retiring after more than three decades of service. We are deeply grateful for their leadership and commitment.
As we mark this 175-year milestone, I invite you to join us in shaping the future. Together, we can continue building stronger families and communities for generations to come.

BRIANA felt a lot of shame when she entered the foster care system at the age of 15. But with the support of Wellpoint Care Networkโs Youth Transitioning to Adulthood (YTA) program, she was able to live independently and attend school. Today she is a college graduate, substance abuse counselor, and author.

Wellpoint Care has proudly been delivering independent living services to youth since 2007. Our Youth Transitioning to Adulthood and Supervised Independent Living programs support youthโs goals around the Five Pillars of Stability: Health, Housing, Education, Employment, and Caring Connections.
When EMILY first contacted us, she struggled with overwhelming emotions that affected her relationships and day-to-day stability. After beginning Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emily learned tools to help create meaningful, lasting changes like better communication, boundary-setting and patience skills.

In addition to DBT, our Outpatient Clinic offers a variety of evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs, including Occupational Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and more
JESS REESE recently returned to Wellpoint Care as a Foster Care Licensing Program Manager. After spending a few years in a different field, she missed doing purpose-driven work and having a deep connection to the organizationโs mission. A commitment to trauma-informed care made it an easy and meaningful decision.

We’ve made Trauma Informed Care a central organizational philosophy that’s been infused across our entire continuum of care. Every one of our employees is trained annually, as the processes and concepts are ever-evolving.
