Money for Former Foster Youth

By Joel Zawada | Posted on March 22, 2022

Aged Out? Cash In!

Thanks to the Supporting Foster Youth and Families Through the Pandemic Act, young adults who aged out of foster care between January 27, 2020 and September 30, 2021 were made eligible to receive $6,000 in federal stimulus money.

Eligible participants received $1,000 a month for six months to assist with rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, car loans, groceries and other basic needs.

Though the application period for this program has now closed, Wellpoint Care Network still provides a variety of support for youth aging out of foster care. Learn more here.
