Wellpoint Care Network to Host 2nd Annual Diaper Drive for Dads

MILWAUKEE — Wellpoint Care Network, a community-facing human services organization based in Milwaukee, has partnered with the Milwaukee Diaper Mission to host the 2nd annual ‘Diapers for Dads’ collection and distribution event.

Last year, nearly 19,000 diapers were collected and distributed to dads throughout the Milwaukee community.

“Our goal is to once again collect enough diapers to provide at least 100 fathers with 100 diapers,” said Andrew Bonner, Community Engagement Coordinator at Wellpoint Care Network. “We want to relieve that financial burden on fathers and let them know that they are supported.”

This year, diapers will once again be collected throughout the month of November (November 1 to November 30) inside Wellpoint Care Network’s Social Hall (8901 W. Capitol Dr). Please note that collection will take place during business hours only.

“People often complain about what we see in our environments, in our communities or in our surroundings,” added Bonner. “If we want to see change, we have to be those individuals that bring about that change. Affording formula and diapers are one of the biggest challenges that fathers face. It’s one of the biggest motivators for them to do whatever it takes in order to get those supplies. We want to provide hope and a lending hand to those dads who may feel helpless. This is a great way to do that.”

All donations are appreciated and will be distributed to Milwaukee area dads at an event at Wellpoint Care Network on December 13.
