Community Garden Opens on Milwaukee’s Northwest Side

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Wellpoint Care Network opened a community garden on the north west side of Milwaukee Tuesday, Aug. 16.

“Growing things is very therapeutic. Growing things and sharing them with others? Even more so.”

Neighbors can claim any plots to grow produce. Volunteer gardeners with the organization will maintain crops. 

Wellpoint believes gardening can not only give families access to healthy food, but a sense of community as well.
