Wellpoint Care Network to Host Second Annual Back-to-School Bash

MILWAUKEE — Wellpoint Care Network, a community-facing human services organization based in Milwaukee, is excited to announce the return of its Back-to-School Bash. It will be held on Thursday, August 10, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at our campus, located at 8901 W. Capitol Drive.

This free event is all about ensuring students have the support and resources they need as they prep for the upcoming school year.

“Our work and mission are all about children and families,” said Alex Williams, Director of Community Engagement at Wellpoint Care Network. “What better way to get children and families ready for the school year than to throw a big neighborhood party and get kids what they need.”

Children in attendance will receive free backpacks filled with school supplies (while supplies last). There will also be free haircuts, bounce houses, a video game party bus, raffle prizes, free food and more!

Several of our community partners will also be in attendance to provide a variety of resources — including mental health, education, housing and employment.

“At its core, this event is about getting kids ready for school, getting them ready to learn, getting them excited about education,” added Williams. “And for parents and guardians, getting them the resources that they need, giving them an afternoon to get away from some of the stresses of the world and of back-to-school shopping.”

Through this free event, Wellpoint Care Network hopes to meet more than 1,000 children and their families, and help as many as possible prepare for a great school year.

Those who would like to attend are encouraged to pre-register HERE.

Please note: If there is bad weather, the event will be held on Friday, August 11.
