Wellpoint Care Network kicked off a green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) project on Tuesday, May 21, taking place as part of the multi-year project to transform our historic 18-acre campus into a vibrant neighborhood anchor where families, neighbors and community partners will find a place to connect, collaborate and care for themselves and one another.
This GSI project is designed to capture at least 1 million gallons of stormwater and includes constructed wetlands, bioswales, and native landscaping. Construction of the GSI is scheduled to be completed in October 2024.
Those in attendance included: Ann Leinfelder Grove, President and CEO of Wellpoint Care, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, District 5 Alderman Lamont Westmoreland, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, and Kurt Farrell, Market Director of Fresh Coast Protection Partnership.
